Your building deserves a solid footing. North Texas is home to very expansive soil. Our 25+ years
experience building in this area has taught us the vital importance of correct soil preparation followed
by designing the right foundation for the job.

There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to designing the right building foundation. 80% of our
foundations are going to be built on expansive clay common to Texas. Our engineers evaluate each of
our projects on a case by case basis to present the most appropriate foundation method suitable to the
type of building being constructed.

Soil preparation is the key to creating a solid foundation. Typically
we excavate 5 feet beyond and 8 feet below the future building’s footprint. We then return the soil in
8 inch lifts adding water to pre-swell the clay followed by compaction to reach a 93-98% Proctor factor.
We then add 1 to 3 feet of select fill per the engineer’s recommendation before piers are poured and
beams installed. Our process has been proven sound in heavy industrial projects demanding the highest
of tolerances.

Our process takes more time and effort than typical methods but the end result is a solid foundation
built to last.
